The Party has a long history in South Australia, first running for elections in 1955. As part of the recent resurgence of the DLP across Australia, we are re-establishing the Party in SA to fight for old-fashioned Labour values such as:
  • Strong families – the basic building block of society.
  • Workers’ rights – everyone should be able to find gainful employment and be able to support a family.
  • Supporting small businesses and co-operatives
  • Fighting against shop trading hours deregulation.
  • Religious freedoms and the right to life.
  • A sensible response to Covid-19 that balances health considerations with the livelihoods of small business owners and workers.
  • Improving the affordability of housing in South Australia.
  • Rebuilding our manufacturing capability, starting with Government contracts.
  • Significantly improved services to regional areas.
We are beholden to neither big business or special interests and we are an independent voice to fight for working South Australians. We are not career politicians; we are everyday workers, business owners and volunteers. We love our state and we are passionate about fighting to make it an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
