Government contracts should be awarded to local bidders first where possible, followed by interstate bidders. We would seek to mandate all government tender processes to prioritise local suppliers, producers and manufacturers first. Overseas bids should be accepted as a last resort.
We propose the designation of economically challenged areas of our State as Special Economic Zones. New businesses establishing in these areas will receive additional tax relief for the first three years of operation to assist the growth and development of economic opportunity for workers and business owners in these areas. There will be a particular focus on rural and regional South Australia to encourage population and economic decentralisation.
